California Dreaming: A Coastal Adventure from Manhattan Beach to San Diego

    Day 1-3: Manhattan Beach Magic

Our journey began as the sun dipped low over Los Angeles, casting a golden hue over the sprawling city below. With wheels touching down at LAX, our adventure awaited in the charming coastal town of Manhattan Beach, just a 20-minute drive away.

Day 1: As the salty breeze welcomed us, we checked into The Sea View Inn At The Beach, our cozy retreat just moments from the shore. Eager to explore, we ventured out to Simmzy’s, a pub alive with the buzz of conversation and clinking glasses. Dinner awaited at Manhattan Beach Post, where trendy bistro vibes and sharing plates set the stage for a culinary journey.

Day 2: With the promise of adventure on the horizon, we embarked on a scenic drive to San Diego, our next destination. But not before indulging in the coastal delights of Newport Beach, where Bear Flag Fish Company and Malibu Farm Lido tempted our taste buds. Lido village beckoned, offering a post-lunch stroll amidst charming shops and ocean views.

Day 3: Laguna Beach awaited, a haven of sun-soaked shores and hidden coves. From the vibrant Main Beach to the scenic vistas of Heisler Park, every moment was a testament to California’s coastal beauty. Lunch found us at The Cliff, where breathtaking views competed with lackluster menus, while Larsen at Hotel Laguna offered a taste of seaside sophistication.

    Day 4-6: San Diego Serenity

As the sun rose over San Diego, we eagerly embraced the laid-back vibes of North PB, our home away from home. Turquoise Oasis beckoned, a haven of relaxation just moments from the beach. Armed with bicycles and beach chairs, we set out to explore this vibrant city.

Day 4: From breakfast at Malibu Farm to fish tacos at Oscar’s Mexican Seafood, our culinary journey continued with a sunset dinner at Cesarina. Barbusa awaited, promising Sicilian delights in the heart of Little Italy.

Day 5: Nolita Hall and Pali Wine Co beckoned, offering trendy spots for libations and laughter. The Grass Skirt promised speakeasy charm, while Ocean Beach Brewery invited us to savor local brews with ocean views.

Day 6: With a sense of wanderlust guiding us, we ventured beyond San Diego’s borders to the charming towns of Encinitas and Leucadia. From brunch at Waverly to cocktails at Vaga, each moment was a celebration of California’s coastal charm.

To Do: A day trip to San Elijo Lagoon promised nature trails and coastal vistas, while Sunset Cliffs beckoned with its stunning coastline. For a taste of history, Old Town San Diego invited us to wander its open-air streets, a step back in time amidst vibrant markets and colorful characters.

As our journey drew to a close, the memories we made along the California coast lingered like the salty breeze, a reminder of the beauty and adventure that awaits around every corner. Until next time, California, may your shores forever call us back to explore anew.
